Broadband Advisory Board Created by Governor Polis to Hold First Meeting

DENVER - Colorado’s newly formed Broadband Advisory Board, created through Gov. Polis’ Executive Order focusing on collaboration and coordination of broadband efforts, will hold its first meeting on Thursday, December 3, at 10 a.m. The public is welcome to join the meeting by registering online.

On October 30, 2020, Gov. Polis released the Broadband Initiatives Report, which outlines the state’s vision to create economic opportunity for Coloradans and accomplish the administration’s Bold Four issues through changing how Colorado governs, maps, funds, and deploys broadband. To support this vision, the Governor issued an Executive Order creating a Broadband Advisory Board within the Office of Information Technology (OIT) to help bring fast, reliable and affordable broadband service to all Coloradans, and to partner with the Office of the Future of Work (OFOW) to provide regular updates to the Board on digital inclusion and literacy.

Per the Executive Order, the Board will consist of the following state agency members:

  • Tony Neal-Graves, Executive Director of Colorado Broadband Office;

  • Jeff Kraft, as the designee of the Executive Director of Office Economic Development and

  • International Trade;

  • Greg Winkler, as the designee of the Executive Director of Department of Local Affairs;

  • Brian Martin, as the designee of the Executive Director of Department of Regulatory Agencies;

  • Bob Fifer, as the designee of the Executive Director of Colorado Department of Transportation; and

  • A representative from any other agency or organization that has relevant projects and initiatives focused on broadband activities within the State, as appointed by the Executive Director of OIT.

The second Broadband Advisory Board meeting is scheduled for Thursday, December 17, 2020, at 9 a.m.

More information about the Broadband Advisory Board can be found on the Colorado Broadband Office website.
