Governor’s Office of Information Technology Announces New GIS Website & Data Explorer

DENVER, Colo.—The Governor’s Office of Information Technology (OIT) is pleased to announce the launch of the new GIS website and data explorer at

The easy to use GIS website assists users with the discovery of GIS data while also providing a place for state agencies, county and municipal partners, and other stakeholders to find GIS support.

Colorado Chief Data Officer Jon Gottsegen says, “This is really a step forward for OIT's GIS services and the GIS community in Colorado. We’re proud to be able to offer this tool to enhance the use of GIS technology to improve government services in the state.”

Key features of the new site include:
  • Products and services offered by the GIS Coordination & Development Program (GCDP)
  • Quick access to GIS data and applications, including:
    • Colorado Information Marketplace at
    • OIT GCDP enterprise datasets, services, and a public geocoder
    • Colorado Broadband Map
    • GCDP hosted applications (example: Trustlands GIS App for CO State Land Board)
  • The OIT GCDP events calendar to view details of upcoming and previous events; previous event media; and current status of GCDP’s enterprise datasets
  • Ability for state agencies and stakeholders (municipalities, counties, and partners) to request services
The GCDP Mission: Empower data driven decision-making for the State of Colorado and its residents through improved sharing and availability of geographic information resulting from collaborative partnerships with all levels of government and the public.
